Don't do it. When you finally get a flat (and you will), it's almost impossible to clean off of the tube to make a patch stick. As for balance, I didn't notice anything. I've used in tubeless car tires, and it did help, but not in tube-type tires that the savage requires (them damn-but-pretty wire spokes).
